Landis+Gyr Earns High Marks in Measurement Canada Audit of Reynosa Meter Plant

Company completes decade of accreditation for broadest meter portfolio

Atlanta, GA. – June 14, 2016 Landis+Gyr global provider of smart grid solutions, announced the successful completion of a Measurement Canada audit of its advanced meter manufacturing plant in Reynosa, Mexico.

Canadian utilities have purchased more than 5.2 million meters from Landis+Gyr’s Reynosa plant, which has been accredited by Measurement Canada since 2006. The accreditations include both the ability to perform inspections on meters as well as to calibrate and certify meters.

Measurement Canada auditors recognized Landis+Gyr’s management leadership, manufacturing systems and approach to resolving issues with suppliers and products.

“We have the largest portfolio of meters approved for use in Canada on both RF and PLC advanced metering networks. We continue to expand capabilities to better serve our Canadian customers and make it easier to operate and maintain meter networks,” said Steven Schamber, Vice President of AMI Solutions at Landis+Gyr.

Landis+Gyr meters approved for the Canadian market include the E130 FOCUS AL, E350 FOCUS AX and FOCUS AXe for residential metering and the E650 S4x for commercial applications. The FOCUS AX is approved for metrological firmware traced updates under seal, and both the FOCUS AXe and S4x are on track to be approved for firmware traced updates this year.

Landis+Gyr advanced meters are deployed throughout most Canadian provinces, extending into the northernmost areas in Nunavut and Northwest Territories. In addition to advanced metering, Landis+Gyr’s Gridstream® solution platform offers Canadian utilities gird analytics, meter data management, load management, distribution automation and consumer engagement platforms.
